Shoe Crazy!!!!

I've been going a bit shoe crazy lately. Since I found those Bostonians, I have been searching for more cheap high grade dress shoes. I found a pair of Bass Monkstraps for dirt cheap and grabbed them up quick.

Then the other day I came across a pair of Stacy Adams "Killian" shoes. The Florsheim outlet had them on sale so I bought them. "Killian" are a strange look at first sight, but they have grown on me.

Once again, I was browsing for a pair of cap toe oxfords on the internet and remembered that Onlineshoes.com had the lowest prices I'd seen so I settled upon the Bass "Atlanta". I payed the sale price, but I feel that's fair for that style of brand new shoes.

Last, but surely not least I scanned Ebay for some "penny loafers" or "weejuns" as my friends in Europe call them and I found some lightly used Florsheims in burgundy. The picture is poor so I won't post a pic until I receive them.

I'm sure I'll come across some more shoes I need to round out my wardrobe. After all, I don't have any dress style boots. Or perhaps, some red wingtips. What do ya'll think.

I Had to Write About This Before I Forgot!

I'll write a longer post in the next few days but I had to tell ya'll about this before I forgot. I went to a Goodwill in the next town over since I had not been there in many years. I was searching for suits and blazers of which they had neither. Shitty store,Oh well. I asked an employee to point out the cardigan section ,if there was one. She looked at me like I had a green horn sticking from my forehead. I asked what the problem was and she proceeded to tell me that she was not aware that anyone but homosexuals wore them because she was not aware that cardigans were made for men. I showed her a section of them in the mens' sweater section. Many were golf cardigans and in no way feminine. She was amazed!
I should have expected this kind of ignorance in a town where flip-flops and Taz XXXL sized t-shirts are the height of fashion for women.

Second Hand Goodies Part 1

I have not written lately because I've been busy with school work. I've also been waiting to recieve some of the goodies I have purchased online. I'll start with the amazingly flawless circa 40's Bakelite suit brush I won on Ebay for $9.99. The Bakelite has no chips or cracks and the bristles look brand new. Those of you whom know about suit brushes are aware of the importance of them to keep a suit clean and decrease the visits to the cleaners. My next acquisition is a silver vintage tie clip and cuff links that I bought at a local antique store. Although they do not match they look good together.

The last beauty for this part of this post is a brown Stetson crushable fedora with a 2 1/2 inch brim. It is brand new but has a very old look due to the tall, straight crown. I found this hat while I was raiding the clearance racks for linen shirts and slacks at my local Dillards. They apparently have begun selling real hats again after many years. I recommend buying one for yourself as an everyday knockaround hat. Just make sure the one you get holds a shape as some on the rack do not. These will be a good starter hat.

My next post will include another hat,my Dillards linen finds and suspenders among other things.Hell there may be three parts. Stay tuned!

Churchill Fedora on EBay

I recently picked up three Hawaiian shirts at Wal-Mart on sale for $5 a piece. They are made from Rayon like the old ones and they are very comfortable. I'm not usually a Hawiian shirt type of guy but they feel good on a 106 degree day. I also found some Faded Glory brand boat shoes.

These shoes are similar to the old Keds boat shoes and they are only $7. Last but not least, I came across those wonderful George vintage style trousers on sale for $11. The Houndstooth Kid (http://mrlapel.blogspot.com/) loves these trousers and I can see why. They are soft and amazingly comfortable.

I recently put that Churchill brown 7 1/8 Extra Long Oval fedora on EBay. I assure ya'll it's worth the money I'm asking for it(actually what I paid). Please check it out! My username is jerrywswindle2
